We say that communication is the bloodline of society. There will be no society if there is no communication. Even in the animal kingdom, communication is very vital to the animal's survival. In almost all endeavors, communication plays an important role.
Communication is fundamental to success in whatever field of interest you are in. Proper Communication makes the business a success. Your ability to say what you say, you feel, express your ideas, persuade others to believe in you, and convince them to react or respond to you, are all factors to a successful career. All things being equal, a person who can effectively communicate usually has an edge.
• A sales manager using persuasive language, has to convince his sales force to perform beyond their quota and avail of the company's various promotional offers.
• A medical practitioner has to explain his patient's condition in clear language, recommend appropriate medications, and provide necessary precautions for the fast recovery.

Thus, Communication helps understand people better, resolves misunderstanding, fosters clarity of thoughts and expression, and facilitates education. Communication can take various forms. It may be written, oral, electronic, or non-verbal. Communication can be formal er informal depending on the setting. In a workplace, this can be an upward, downward, horizontal, or diagonal. It can also be interpersonal, intrapersonal. interdepartmental, and intra- organizational.
